The former president dedicated his new book to Claudia Sheinbaum, whom he considered the best President in the world.

Mexico City, September 30 (SinEmbargo).— Former president Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) returned to the public stage today in a video, from his La Chingada ranch, and spoke about History; he recalled the transformations Mexico has lived through and harshly criticized the six presidents of neoliberalism and the Mexican media.

The popular former Mexican president warned, in his message on Facebook and YouTube, that the right did not evolve toward the far right but toward fascism:

It’s not the right, it’s not the far right; it’s neofascism.

AMLO has a new book: it’s called Pueblo.

López Obrador was critical of the 36 years of neoliberalism. He said that Ernesto Zedillo, whom he called “cynical,” promised that Fobaproa (the 1990s bank bailout fund) would cost 180 billion dollars, but so far it has cost, in interest alone, 1.6 trillion. And 1.2 trillion dollars are still left to pay, he recalled.

AMLO’s reappearance comes as this September marks 20 years since the consummation of the 2006 electoral fraud, and as President Claudia Sheinbaum completes two years since taking office as head of the federal Executive. It also comes on the same day that former president Felipe Calderón reappeared in Mexico (he lives in Spain) at a far-right forum.
