SANA cited internal security forces, according to which the General Intelligence Directorate, in partnership with those agencies, succeeded in dismantling the cell after a series of security operations.

The news agency reported that the group was involved in kidnappings, the planting of explosive devices, and assassinations.

Their activities began in the Raqqa governorate, in northeastern Syria, and later spread to Aleppo, Idlib, and Homs.

Authorities reported the arrest of the cell’s four leaders in Raqqa and several of its members in Aleppo, Idlib, and Homs, following surveillance of their activities and movements.

Explosives were also seized during the operations that, according to security forces, they were ready for use in violent attacks.
