An Israeli comms consultant sent shockwaves across the internet after threatening to carry out terrorist attacks in Ireland because of their football win against Israel.

Writing in Hebrew, communications and strategy consultant, Ivgeni Zarubinski shared online:

Alright, it’s time to activate the pagers we planted in Ireland.

Zarubinski tweeted following Israel’s 3-0 UEFA Nations League loss against the Republic of Ireland and has since doubled down on the threat, dismissing many critics.

The comments, which Israeli media dubbed “humorous”, concerned Mossad’s explosive pager terror attacks on Lebanon in 2024. Those indiscriminate attacks killed dozens and left thousands of civilians dead or injured.

Nonetheless, that particularly dastardly terror attack remains a bragging point in Israeli society.

Genocidal mastermind, Benjamin Netanyahu, clearly aligns himself with Zarubinski’s ‘humour’. At the UN General Assembly this week he held up another pager, threatening all apparent enemies:

Beepers… Remember these things? … Hezbollah certainly remembers them.

Israel’s Prime Minister also insidiously gave Donald Trump the ‘gift’ of a golden pager in 2025, calling him our “greatest friend“.

Vile behaviour, deceptive means

What made Zarubinski’s comments particularly worrying was his X bio, which reads like an Israeli government official:

Clearly, the latter end of it sounds comedic, but we’ve seen far too many actual statements of genocidal intent from Zionist state officials, not to mention citizens, to not find it plausible. It should be stated, however, that his bio is ironic and apparently written to stoke exactly the kind of panic it caused. (Hilarious.)

Perhaps if you’re twisted, it’s funny. It’s certainly doing nothing to improve plummeting global perceptions of Israel when a Middle East Observer account with 380,200 followers shares:

Nonetheless, other criticisms remain true regardless. US journalist Ana Kasparian, of TYT, reposted:

Imagine being this overtly disgusting yet oblivious about why the world loathes you.

Hard to disagree with that. Sickened government official, soulless journalist or mere perverse citizen, to joke about such horrific things is grim enough. To make people think it’s legit is another level.

Ireland played ‘against genocide’

Irish people are famously pro-Palestine and anti-Zionist, connecting their country’s historic struggle against the British empire to Palestine’s. The latter struggle, of course, remains an active battle.

After Israel lost to the Republic of Ireland on Sunday in the highly controversial game, Zionists played their victim card. Alongside their usual, terroristic lashing out, fans sang genocidal footy chants in favour of the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) and were racially abusive to players.

In that spirit, Irish team coach Heimir Hallgrimsson acknowledged that squad members were “uncomfortable about playing Israel”. Whether or not he, they or we should buy it, Hallgrimsson said:

We’re not playing with genocide, we’re playing against genocide.

This alone, unsurprisingly, was enough to draw the ire of Zionist media apparatchiks and the Israel Football Association. The latter accused the coach of “hypocrisy and stupidity,” without expanding on how it was either of those things.

Nonetheless, the fact that the game went ahead despite mass discontent from the fans, will be sorely remembered.

As Irish journalist, Tadgh Hickey, wrote regarding Zarubinski:

These are the kinds of people we sportswashed this evening.
