During a working session with local authorities, the official reviewed the implementation of the package of 176 measures approved by the nation; 162 of these directly impact the agricultural sector, the banking system, and the farming business sector.

Tapia highlighted the importance of granting greater autonomy to the cooperative sector to place it on equal footing with other economic actors, boosting the agricultural development fund, and encouraging the creation of input markets involving foreign capital.

The meeting—also chaired by Joel Queipo, First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba in the province, and Minister of Agriculture Ydael Perez—emphasized the need to accelerate these actions to achieve a direct impact on supplying the population.

Meanwhile, Provincial Governor Manuel Hernandez explained that the deputy prime minister’s visit follows up on a series of exchanges held across Holguín’s 14 municipalities with local producers and agencies driving these initiatives.
