She returned to Venezuela after taking part in the United Nations General Assebly.
On Thursday, acting President Delcy Rodriguez returned to Venezuela after participating in the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.

“As a delegation, we return happy with the mission accomplished,” she said, and stressed her happiness at reuniting with the Venezuelan people.
Earlier in the week, Rodriguez held a private meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump, during a reception on Tuesday hosted by Trump for foreign heads of state and government on the occasion of the UN High-Level Week.
During her stay in the United States, the Venezuelan acting president also spoke with Chilean President Jose Antonio Kast; Trinidad and Tobago Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar; and Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten. She also held meetings with officials from the World Bank (WB), the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).
On Wednesday, Rodriguez addressed the UN General Assembly, where she discussed issues including elections in Venezuela, peace, equality and the defense of multilateralism.

Rodriguez Promotes Energy Conservation Ahead of El Niño
On Thursday, the Venezuelan acting president reviewed government matters with Parliament President Jorge Rodriguez, Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello, and Digital Governance Vice President Anabel Pereira.
She later traveled to the National Electric Energy Dispatch Center to monitor energy demand and called on citizens to join efforts to reduce electricity consumption in order to collectively mitigate the effects that the El Niño phenomenon could have on water availability for power generation.
“If everyone does their part and we collaborate in this energy-saving plan, collectively we will be able to mitigate the effects of the ‘Super El Niño’ even further. So let’s work together and never give up!” Rodriguez said.
The El Niño climate phenomenon represents an additional challenge for electricity generation in Venezuela and other Latin American countries. According to the International Research Center on El Niño (Ciifen), the greatest impacts are expected between October and December, with temperatures rising by between 2 and 3 degrees Celsius above the average.
Engineer Valdemar Andrade, of the Venezuelan Central University ‘s Hydrometeorological Station, recalled that four El Niño events since the 1950s have been very strong and have reduced rainfall in Venezuela.
Acting President Rodriguez stressed the need to coordinate actions between the public and private sectors to address the current climate situation and ensure the stability of the electricity service.
