Wanted war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu addressed a largely empty room at the UN General Assembly on Thursday. Around 77 delegates left the chamber in protest before he began to speak. Among the representatives who stayed behind were those of Israel, the UK, the US, Canada, the UAE, Japan and Bahrain, according to the Palestine Chronicle. Netanyahu travelled to New York for the assembly’s meeting of world leaders, despite an outstanding arrest warrant against him from the international criminal court, issued amid Israel’s genocidal assault on Gaza. A similar walkout happened when he spoke at the assembly last year.
