The Yemeni Armed Forces, led by the Ansar Allah movement, said they carried out a preventive operation Thursday against Saudi military positions in the Jizan region to halt the deployment of troops.
“Our armed forces continue to fulfill their duty with all their strength and determination, responding to sources of threat and aggression, and monitoring and attacking hostile movements wherever they may be,” military spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Saree said.

Saree said the operation targeted operations rooms, command and control centers, weapons depots and other key locations linked to Saudi reinforcements in the al Tuwal area, including the Sixth Emergency Division. The attack included strikes on missile launch sites at the al-Daghareer camp in Jizan and other Saudi military camps. Saree said the operation killed and wounded hundreds of Saudi enemy reinforcements, including Yemenis and Sudanese, as well as dozens of Saudi military personnel and officers.
The operation came amid an escalation that has lasted at least four days, which included attacks on Riyadh and Aramco facilities in Yanbu and Jizan. Saree said the operation was carried out amid an escalation of Saudi attacks on border areas in Saada and Hajjah, including the launch of more than 200 missiles from Jizan.

Days earlier, on September 20, Ansar Allah claimed two large-scale operations: one against “sensitive targets” in Riyadh and another against an Aramco facility in Yanbu. According to Saree, both were carried out with “a large number of ballistic and cruise missiles and drones” and caused large fires at the sites hit. The operations are part of a broader offensive by Yemeni forces, which in recent weeks have expanded their control over the country’s western coast and the strategic Bab al-Mandab strait, recovering positions previously held by Saudi-backed mercenary forces, including the capture of Perim Island (Mayyun).
The Sanaa administration had also announced on July 20 a naval blockade against Saudi Arabia in response to the siege the kingdom has imposed on Yemen for approximately twelve years.
The attrition is already reflected in Saudi oil exports: according to Financial Times figures cited by PressTV, Saudi crude production fell 23% in August to 6.2 million barrels per day, while exports fell from 5.1 to 3.1 million barrels per day in the same period.
