Israel’s occupation forces arrested more than 100 young Palestinians during a series of intense raids and search operations conducted Thursday in the West Bank towns of Qalqilya and Azzun, as troops also demolished homes and injured civilians during the operations.
Local reports indicate that more than 30 soldiers and 15 military vehicles entered Azzun through its northern access point, raiding multiple homes across the neighborhoods of Al Mansour, Khallat al Darba, Shamiya and Al Ghanawi.
Simultaneously, in Qalqilya, military units reinforced their deployment around midnight in the areas of Nazzal, Kafr Saba and Wadi Street, placing the Tabbal neighborhood under tight lockdown.

During operations conducted across agricultural land and commercial areas, troops fired stun grenades, tear gas and live ammunition at civilians, wounding several people, including a 14-year-old.
The scale and intensity of Thursday’s raids mark an escalation in the pattern of nighttime incursions and mass arrests that rights groups say have become increasingly routine across West Bank towns and cities.

Homes Demolished
The crackdown extended to other parts of the occupied territory, where an undercover military unit infiltrated the airport road near the Qalandia refugee camp, north of occupied Jerusalem, to detain a young Palestinian man. In the village of Beit Imrin, troops surrounded the home of prisoner Dawas Hassoun and detonated explosives inside it, causing severe structural damage to the property and to neighboring homes.
Infantry patrols also raided several residences in the town of Tammun, southeast of Tubas. In a parallel development, groups of extremist settlers set fire to two vehicles and spray-painted hostile slogans during a nighttime attack on the village of Atara, north of Ramallah, adding another layer of violence to a day already marked by military raids.

Thursday’s operations follow the recent destruction of hundreds of olive trees in the village of Deir Nizam at the hands of settlers, part of a broader pattern of attacks targeting Palestinian livelihoods, agricultural infrastructure and water supply networks. Local communities have repeatedly denounced what they describe as a systematic campaign of harassment aimed at displacing families from their ancestral lands.
The events reflect a recurring pattern of nighttime raids and mass detentions across West Bank cities that human rights organizations say has intensified in recent months. Rights groups continue to call for effective international mechanisms to protect Palestinian civilians from ongoing abuses committed by occupation forces, warning that the current pace of incursions, demolitions and settler violence shows no sign of slowing.
The West Bank has seen a marked increase in Israeli military activity and settler attacks since the October 7, 2023 escalation, with violence against Palestinian communities continuing even amid international scrutiny of Israel’s broader military campaign in Gaza. More than 500,000 Israeli settlers currently live in West Bank settlements alongside millions of Palestinians, in communities widely considered illegal under international law by the United Nations and much of the international community, a designation the Israeli government rejects.
