On Tuesday, President Trump addressed the UN General Assembly, calling Cuba “an absolutely failed state” and promising the government “will fall.” President Miguel Diaz-Canel slammed Trump’s speech on the debut of his new radio show “Criterio Compartido," stating, "Yesterday the United States president’s remarks were completely arrogant, overbearing and interventionist, further underpinning that genocidal, criminal and contemptuous mindset towards Cuba.” Diaz-Canel vowed to continue to defend the Revolution in spite of the tightening of the US blockade. He also noted the new economic reforms were neither a “turn to capitalism, nor a process of capitalist restoration. They are the updating of our economic and social model within a socialist construction.”
