The so-called ‘Campaign against Antisemitism‘ (CAA) has been described as one of the UK’s two main apartheid lobby groups. It’s not hard to see why: the Israel-funded group habitually treats opposition to Israel’s genocide and apartheid as antisemitic. Its CEO has been caught trying to set up anti-genocide protesters . And now it is threatening the Green party with legal action over the party’s planned conference debate on a motion that ‘Zionism is racism’.
Israel — Moral panic
CAA chief executive Gideon Falter is no stranger to trying to whip up a moral panic to demonise resistance to Israel’s crimes. In 2024, Falter claimed that he had been prevented by police from crossing a London road after he just happened to ‘come across’ an anti-genocide march, because he looked Jewish. That claim soon fell apart as video and other evidence emerged.
Falter had in fact turned up with a security detail and was trying to barge through the march in the opposite direction, rather than wanting to simply cross the road, forcing police to prevent him. He then bailed on a Sky News discussion when his claims were challenged.
CAA’s real agenda became even clearer when the group boasted in 2025 of persuading the Starmer regime to impose a terror ban on non-violent protest group Palestine Action. Ridiculously allowed to exist as a ‘charity’ despite its naked political purpose, CAA was rapped by the Charity Commission in February 2026 for ‘mismanagement’, but allowed to keep its status.
Second time around
The ‘Zionism is racism’ motion is coming before the Greens’ conference for the second time this year. In March 2026, Israel supporters in the party coordinated a ‘filibuster’ of constant delays and interruptions that the party allowed to prevent the motion coming to a vote. The organisers of the disruption were recently exposed on the Canary.
Now, it seems the Israel lobby is not convinced the same approach will work this time round, as CAA is trying threats, smears and bluster instead. The perfectly reasonable proposition calls for party support for a single state with equality for all, and declares that a political philosophy creating an apartheid ethno-state is racist. But this is beyond the pale, according to the apartheid lobby group that sees antisemitism wherever Israel’s crimes are opposed:
The “Zionism is racism” motion is up for debate once again at the Green Party Conference. We stand ready to take legal action where necessary.
At the upcoming Conference which takes place next month, members will reportedly be debating a motion to equate Zionism and racism. The same motion was due to be debated at the Party’s Spring Conference earlier this year, but the debate did not ultimately go ahead for technical reasons.
The motion appears to be based on the Soviet campaign that culminated in a 1975 UN General Assembly resolution declaring Zionism to be racism that was not revoked until 1991.
According to @Times, Party members will hand out a booklet at the conference ahead of the vote, authored by Lubna Speitan, who is involved with the latest motion.
She allegedly states within the book that “We must bring an end to this racism and the monstrous state that has been built upon it. Beyond Palestine and our region, this is a threat to peace and freedom everywhere”.
The booklet also allegedly reads: “In pursuit of the right to self-determination, the Palestinian people’s use of force to resist foreign oppression and to complete the establishment of an independent State is an inalienable right well founded in international law.”
The motion has attracted significant concern, including from former Green Party Leader Caroline Lucas, who reportedly observed that there is a “vast difference” between criticising the Israeli Government and using language that could be perceived as “talking more about individual Jewish people rather than the Israeli Government”.
The overwhelming majority of British Jews identify as Zionists. It is an essential part of their Jewishness. This motion would effectively declare Zionist Jews to be inherently racist and would open the door to discrimination against them.
We hope that the upcoming Conference motion follows the same fate as the last and that it is dropped from any future Green Party policy proposals.

Zionism is self-evidently racism. The Greens must not capitulate again.
