The five remaining defendants in the Stanford protest case are set to have their charges dismissed. The group, known as the Stanford 11, faced felony vandalism charges stemming from a 2024 protest against the war in Gaza in which students barricaded themselves inside the university president’s office. In February, a judge declared a mistrial after the jury was unable to reach a verdict. Originally, twelve protesters faced felony vandalism charges, though seven of them had already taken plea deals or entered diversion programs. Under a deal with the state Attorney General’s office, the protesters will pay restitution and perform community service.
