This meeting took place during the 81st session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA), providing a crucial platform for diplomatic engagement and strategic cooperation.

During this high-level discussion, Rodríguez emphasized the evolving strategic partnership between the Bolivarian Government and the UN, focusing on sustainable development, technological transfer, and fortifying Venezuela’s social protection system. This collaboration is particularly significant following the recent seismic event in Venezuela, where the UN provided institutional and technical support.
The meeting underscored Venezuela’s commitment to the Boliviarian Peace Diplomacy, which aims to evaluate and implement specialized methodologies for reconstructing resilient infrastructure.

Rodríguez arrived in the United States early Monday morning and had a busy schedule, meeting with key international figures. She held discussions with Ilan Goldfajn, President of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB); Ajay Banga, President of the World Bank Group; and Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Accompanying Rodríguez were her Foreign Minister, Félix Plasencia; Vice President of Economy, Calixto Ortega; First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Oliver Blanco; and Minister of Hydrocarbons, Paula Henao.
The last visit by a Venezuelan head of state was by President Nicolas Maduro in 2018, who is currently detained in a prison in NYC, after being kidnapped by U.S. forces in January in Caracas. Acting President Delcy Rodriguez will address the UN General Assembly on Wednesday during the High-Level Week of the 81st session, as per the UN calendar.
