Uruguay’s Tour

The Pope will arrive at Montevideo’s Carrasco International Airport on November 6. The welcoming ceremony will take place at Independence Square, followed by a meeting with Uruguayan President Yamandú Orsi at the José Artigas Building. The Pope will also lead the celebration of Vespers at Montevideo’s Metropolitan Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and St. Philip and James.

On November 7, Pope Leo XIV will travel to Paysandú, where he will preside over a mass in the Paris London Park. He will then return to Montevideo to visit Casavalle at the Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe Parish and the Catholic University of Uruguay. In the evening, the Catholic pontiff will lead a Vigil of Prayer at Montevideo’s Centennial Stadium.

On his final day in Uruguay, Pope Leo XIV will celebrate a mass at the Cathedral Basilica of Florida, the National Shrine of the Virgin of the Thirty-Three. The visit will conclude with a farewell ceremony at Carrasco Airport before the Pope departs for Buenos Aires, Argentina.
