Andy Burnham has authorised the RAF to provide aerial support to despotic US-Israel ally Saudi Arabia against Yemen’s Ansar Allah. In a statement, he said that:

On the advice of the Defence Secretary and the Foreign Secretary, I agreed to [Saudi Arabia’s] request for defensive air-to-air refuelling.

Bab al-Mandab Burnham: acting for the Saudi despots

The Saudis’ rout in Yemen by Ansar Allah has put the Yemeni group in firm control of the Bab al-Mandab Strait that Saudi Arabia would have used to route oil that cannot pass through the Hormuz Strait during Iran’s blockade. Yemen was one of only a handful of countries to fulfil its duty under international law to combat Israel’s genocide, and its support for Iran’s resistance to the US-Israeli war of aggression is key.

Burnham has again shown he is no better than his craven predecessor in pandering to, and collaborating with, despots and genociders.
