Jersey-based anti-genocide and peace activist Natalie Strecker is appealing to Green Party leader Zack Polanski to back the “Zionism is Racism” motion at the Green Party conference in October.
Strecker was found not guilty in December 2025 on “terror” charges for supporting the Palestinians’ right of resistance to Israel’s occupation.

Strecker posted:
Even from a perspective of keeping the Jewish community safe at a time of actual real antisemitism increasing, in a large way due to the conflation of the POLITICAL ideology of Zionism and Judaism and Israel and the Jewish community, the only wise course of action is to separate Zionism and Judaism
Strecker said in her video that one cannot address femicide without naming misogyny. One cannot address the horrors ICE is inflicting on brown and marginalised communities in America without naming white supremacy. And one cannot address genocide, apartheid, occupation, a hundred years of ethnic supremacy in Palestine without naming Zionism.
Then she goes to the source. Judge Zionism, she said, by what it has produced, not by what people say it means, asking Polanski to go back to its architects, Herzl and Weizmann.
Polanski tells Zeteo he opposes the motion
But Polanski has made his position clear: he opposes the “divisive” Zionism is Racism motion, at least in its current form. Speaking at a Zeteo live event in London, he framed his objections around two amendments he wants to see before he’d support it. The Crispin Flintoff Show shared the clip from the event.
He doesn’t dispute the racism charge itself.
If what you’re talking about is what this Israeli government is carrying out in the name of Zionism, the genocide and displacement of the Palestinian people, then of course that’s quite obviously racist.
His first objection is about safeguarding Jewish members of the Green Party not being included in the motion.
If someone stands against the occupation, stands against apartheid, stands against the genocide, but happens to be a member of a synagogue that calls itself a Zionist synagogue, they should not be treated any different within the Green Party.
His second is the call for a single Palestinian state. He said.
There’s something quite imperial about the British government or indeed the Green Party of England and Wales — deciding what the future settlement of Palestine and Israel looks like.
The Guardian reported last week that Polanski had asked the party’s ruling executive committee to postpone the annual conference. The committee voted the request down on 17 September.
The conference is due to begin in Brighton on 2 October, with the Holborn and St Pancras by-election taking place on 8 October.
