600,000 Attend Presidential Report AssembliesPresident Claudia Sheinbaum toured 26 states and brought together nearly 600,000 people. “These have been very good assemblies, with a lot of enthusiasm. There have been nearly 600,000 people in total in all the assemblies,” she noted.
More Than 19 Million Students Receive Scholarships/StipendsThe Ministry of Public Education (SEP) reported that 19.5 million students have received educational scholarships/stipends, and the number is expected to reach 20.1 million. During the current administration, 8.5 million Rita Cetina scholarships/stipends and 4.2 million Benito Juárez scholarships/stipends have been awarded, among other forms of support.
Mexico, Second-Highest Growth in the G20Mexico’s GDP grew 1.4% in the second quarter of 2026. This is the second-highest growth rate in the G20, trailing only India, according to figures cited by the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). Sheinbaum noted the figure “for all those who say things are going very badly.”
Mexico Strengthens Its Diesel SupplyThe Olmeca Refinery and the modernization of other refineries enable Mexico to be self-sufficient in diesel and help keep prices in check. The President emphasized that “if the Dos Bocas refinery didn’t exist, we would be facing supply problems.”
Mexico: Dialogue With the U.S. While Respecting SovereigntyMexico is engaged in dialogue with the United States regarding tariffs and the review of the USMCA, defending its interests and national laws. On security, Sheinbaum reiterated that “interference or intervention does not strengthen national institutions. On the contrary, it weakens them.”
