Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters warned the United States and its regional allies on Sunday that any new military aggression would trigger a response of sustained and painful attacks against U.S. positions and interests throughout West Asia.
In an official statement, the Iranian military command said Washington seeks to cover up previous defeats through actions planned in joint meetings held in Europe with the consent of certain governments in the region. Based on information received, it said, the United States has decided once again, with a green light from some regional countries at a joint meeting in a European country, to resume actions against the Islamic Republic of Iran. It described the war as one that began with lies and Zionist staging and continued through deception.

The military leadership extended the warning to neighboring nations, urging them not to align with hostile plans against Iranian territory. It said any complicity would make them direct participants in the confrontation and would nullify all restraint by Iran’s Armed Forces.
IRGC spokesperson Hossein Mohebbi says Iran would significantly change its military response in the event of another U.S. attack, including the “geography of war” and the weapons used.

Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Mohsen Rezaei said a new U.S. aggression is highly likely according to intelligence assessments, and that Tehran is fully prepared to wage a decisive war.
The record of recent confrontations includes a first 12-day offensive by the United States and Israel in June 2025, followed by a second period of active war of 40 days that began on Feb. 28, 2026, and was halted in early April after Iranian resistance.

Despite the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding in Islamabad on June 17 to cease hostilities, Washington carried out airstrikes and a naval blockade in July, leading to forceful Iranian retaliations against strategic assets in West Asia and the operational closure of the Strait of Hormuz, with several exchanges of fire since then.
