Acting President of Venezuela Delcy Rodríguez arrived Monday in New York City to lead her country’s delegation at the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, a highly geopolitically relevant event running until September 28.

Her intervention is scheduled for September 24, during the second slot of the general debate, which runs from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm, after the interventions of Uruguay and Senegal.

In a post on X, the acting president underscored that “Venezuela will be there to make its voice heard and defend its principles, with a working agenda rooted in respect, cooperation, and understanding. We are a country committed to peace, dialogue, and building common ground.”

The main theme of this session is “Restoring trust, managing transformation: a United Nations that delivers for all”. The attendance of more than 190 world leaders is expected, including 98 presidents and 44 prime ministers, who will discuss issues such as peace, security, climate change, and the implementation and responsible use of AI systems.
