After handing over 10 of the 17 state coordinating posts of the Defense of the Transformation and National Sovereignty, Citlalli Hernández, president of the National Elections Commission, said that the differences that have arisen around this internal process are natural to a living party.

“In that open discussion, which should frighten no one, since it is evidently such an open process that it provokes discussion, activism, participation in the streets, our members may have a preference for one or another, according to their closeness, according to their track record — well, there are diverse opinions,” she asserted.

In the end, our movement has the capacity to reach agreement and for all generations to coexist — from the founders to those who have joined recently.

Nevertheless, she emphasized at a press conference, “we could affirm with total conviction and certainty that so far the 10 profiles are comrades who back the transformation; they won thanks to their territorial work.”

“In the end, our movement has the capacity to reach agreement and for all generations to coexist, from the founders to those who have joined recently,” she said.

Hernández added that being a founder or a recent arrival is not synonymous with being beyond reproach, or vice versa.
