Acting President Rodriguez meets with Charge d’Affaires as both countries work to fully restore diplomatic ties.
On Friday, Venezuelan Acting President Delcy Rodriguez received Colin Dick, charge d’affaires of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland, as part of an agenda aimed at the full restoration of diplomatic relations between the two nations.

“Venezuela and the United Kingdom are opening a new chapter in their bilateral relations. I spoke with Colin Dick, the charge d’affaires at the British Embassy in Venezuela, whom I thanked for his willingness and support in this process of resuming diplomatic relations between the two countries. Understanding and cooperation are the path to building new stages of rapprochement and joint work,” Rodriguez stated.
The meeting took place in Caracas and formalized the joint intention to elevate bilateral representation to the ambassadorial level.
The cooperation agenda addresses matters of strategic interest, including the European nation’s commitment to maintaining long-term support for Venezuela. Among the highlighted points is the United Kingdom’s continued support for national reconstruction efforts launched after the earthquakes.
Authorities Facilitate Access To Websites
On Thursday, the National Telecommunications Commission (Conatel) lifted restrictions on about 10 news media websites and about 200 internet domains.
“Conatel informs the national community about the formal restoration of access to various national and international digital platforms and media outlets. As of this date, internet service provider companies operating in the national territory have received the technical notification to enable the domains of several news portals within their infrastructure,” Conatel said.
The decision came after a consultation process with different sectors of the media to “promote an environment of greater and better communication, transparency, diversity and pluralism,” explained The Program for Coexistence and Peace, created by the Rodriguez administration in January.
Conatel also reaffirmed “its commitment to the regulation of the radio spectrum and the supervision of telecommunications, permanently ensuring safe, orderly and adequate access to information and communication services for all the Venezuelan people.”
