“F*cking for Queen and country.” Those are the words used to describe the actions of a fictional undercover police officer in the novel ‘Agent of the State’ after he deceives a leftwing activist into a sexual relationship. It was written by Roger Pearce, himself a former undercover officer, who just told the ongoing ‘spycops’ inquiry that in some instances, real-life agents could be authorised to have sex with Palestine Action activists.
