PEACE activists have called on the Scottish government to stand firm as the nuclear industry called for the ban on new reactors to be lifted.
The Nuclear Industry Association (NIA) made the plea as it pointed to figures that suggest the move to build new nuclear reactors in England has created 47,492 jobs since 2014, doubling the workforce to 94,836, compared with the 13.4 per cent increase — to 5,583 — in Scotland over the same period.
