Led by standout athlete Stephan Stevernik, Brazil claimed six gold medals at the El Invencible Aquatic Center in Rosario, bringing their total haul to 104 medals: 37 gold, 37 silver, and 30 bronze.
Meanwhile, the artistic gymnastics finals also boosted Brazil’s tally with two golds, three silvers, and two bronzes, taking place at a venue that saw the largest spectator turnout of this phase of the continental multi-sport event.
Argentina held onto second place with six medals on the day (including two golds), securing top spots in esports, fencing, and women’s modern pentathlon, alongside medals in stand-up paddleboarding and shooting sports. The host nation’s total medal count reached 88: 29 gold, 23 silver, and 36 bronze, solidifying their lead over Colombia in the overall standings.
For its part, the Colombian delegation won two golds in artistic gymnastics, a gold medal at the conclusion of the speed skating events, gold in the triathlon, and a first-place finish in weightlifting, bringing their total to 66 medals (26-23-17).
Venezuela solidified its hold on fourth place with 38 medals (12-12-14), while Chile sits in fifth with 41 medals (11-12-18). Peru improved its performance to reach a total of 26 medals (6-9-11); notably, four of their six golds were won this Wednesday: two in shooting sports, one in rowing, and one in bowling. Bolivia and Guyana joined the medal tally this Wednesday, while three delegations have yet to win any medals: Aruba, Curaçao, and Suriname.

Sports Schedule in Rosario
The Santa Fe 2026 South American Games continue this Thursday with action at various venues across Rosario. The day’s schedule features early competitions and several medal-deciding events.
Highlights include the debut of the Argentine men’s national football team, facing Paraguay at the Marcelo Bielsa Stadium. Afterward, Uruguay and Venezuela will play in the men’s competition.
The Rosario Golf Club will host the third round of the men’s and women’s individual competitions, as well as the mixed team event.
Fencing at the Salvador Bonilla Stadium begins with the preliminary round of the women’s team épée. Next up is the men’s team foil. Later, the finals for both disciplines will take place, with medals on the line.
Modern pentathlon at the Jorge Newbery Municipal Stadium will start with the women’s relay qualifiers and conclude with the women’s medal final. The men’s competition will follow the same schedule.
In volleyball, Colombia will face Paraguay, and Argentina will play Venezuela in the women’s division at the Claudio Newell indoor stadium. Meanwhile, weightlifting at the Provincial Club will feature the competition and finals for men (up to 110 kg) and women (up to 86 kg).
