Mexico City. The Mexico City Government Secretariat (SECGOB) reported that the celebration for the 216th anniversary of Mexico’s Independence, led by President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, drew a turnout of more than 300,000 attendees. In an informational note, they stated that the activities unfolded peacefully and concluded with a clean record and no incidents. People’s participation, they noted, was orderly, “which made it possible to guarantee safe conditions.”
They specified that there was support from thousands of people for President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, who came to the Zócalo to take part in the occasion.

The Celebration Extended to the Boroughs
The capital’s various boroughs gathered thousands of people in their main squares to witness the Cry of Independence delivered by the heads of each borough, as well as the celebrations afterward.
In Cuauhtémoc, 10,000 people gathered to see groups such as Los Chicos N5, Matute, and Luis Ángel El Flaco. In Azcapotzalco, official figures indicate 15,000 people gathered on the borough’s esplanade.
As for the Coyoacán borough, authorities recorded the entry and exit of a little over 100,000 visitors throughout September 15. Meanwhile, at the time of the Cry of Independence, 28,000 remained in the main square.
