MEN’S CYCLING: Spain’s Enric Mas won La Vuelta by two minutes and 15 seconds from four-time champion Primoz Roglic, with Felix Gall a further 29 seconds back in third. Mas has finished as runner-up on three previous occasions.

Scotland’s Oscar Onley was sixth, almost nine-and-a-half minutes behind Mas, but topped the young riders classification.

Wout van Aert won the points competition and Santiago Butrago was King of the Mountains.
