Palestinians across the West Bank are facing unprecedented numbers of settler attacks – at least six per day. This is the highest rate ever documented. But don’t be fooled by whatever condemnations may come from Israeli parliament members condemning the attacks as “threats to Jewish democracy,” says Birzeit University’s Basil Farraj. These attacks are not aberrations, but an arm of Israel’s own policy of displacement and ethnic cleansing. According to Farraj, they represent Israel’s apartheid system working exactly as designed.
