Venezuela’s acting president, Delcy Rodríguez, arrived Thursday night in Suriname for an official visit aimed at advancing a bilateral and strategic cooperation agenda.
Speaking to the press, she said several cooperation agreements will be signed during the visit within the framework of the Bolivarian Diplomacy of Peace and a mutually beneficial relationship between the two nations.
“We are very committed to our bilateral agenda; we will sign important agreements in different areas of cooperation. I always insist that this is the path: friendship, cooperation, a relationship where both countries and both peoples can benefit,” she said.

According to a statement from the press office of the Venezuelan Presidency, the visit seeks to deepen a new stage in bilateral relations, which are approaching 50 years of history, by promoting productive complementarity in strategic sectors including energy, maritime and air transport, agriculture, fishing, tourism and education.
The statement added that both nations expect to convene a High-Level Mixed Commission and continue recent trade exchange agreements, including a review of Venezuela’s agro-export offering for the poultry sector and shared technical development.
