Venezuela’s Acting President Delcy Rodríguez led a nationwide housing handover on Wednesday, delivering 151 new homes and bringing to 528 the total number of housing solutions granted to families affected by the twin earthquakes that struck the country on June 24.
The central event took place in the El Valle parish of Caracas, specifically in the Simón Bolívar sector of Tiuna Fort, where authorities formalized the allocation of 10 apartments to families displaced or affected by the seismic events.
Simultaneously, the Venezuelan government announced the delivery of new homes in four additional states, extending the reach of the housing initiative well beyond the capital.

In Monagas, 80 housing units were handed over in the “Dr. José Gregorio Hernández” urban development, located in the Boquerón parish of Maturín municipality. Nueva Esparta received 32 homes in the “Gaspar Marcano” development, in the Vista Alegre sector of Marcano municipality, while Trujillo state saw 20 units delivered in the “Jardín del Edén II” complex in Boconó. Carabobo rounded out the day’s deliveries with 9 homes handed over in the Ciudad Chávez housing development.
These efforts are part of a broader policy focused on the social and housing recovery of the population affected by the earthquakes and potential future natural disasters.

Taken together, Wednesday’s handovers illustrate the geographic spread of the government’s post-earthquake housing response, touching five different states in a single coordinated day of deliveries -a logistical effort officials framed as evidence of the state’s capacity to respond simultaneously across multiple affected regions rather than concentrating resources in the capital alone.
The event also highlighted the importance of collective effort and government support in rebuilding communities. The presence of high-ranking officials underscored the government’s priority on addressing the housing crisis and providing relief to those in need. This initiative is expected to continue, with more homes and support services planned for the coming months.

Broader Recovery Plan
The Venezuela Rises plan not only addresses the immediate housing needs but also aims to rebuild the communities shattered by the earthquakes.
The housing plan under which the homes were delivered has served as the government’s overarching response mechanism since the earthquakes struck in June, coordinating reconstruction efforts across housing, infrastructure and social assistance simultaneously, as well as at strengthening the country’s preparedness for potential future natural disaster contingencies.

With the total now standing at 528 housing solutions delivered since the June earthquakes, the government continues to position the reconstruction effort as a central pillar of its post-disaster response, with officials indicating that further handovers are expected to follow as additional housing developments are completed in the affected regions.
“We continue to build new homes by the end of the year, finishing houses by the end of the year, supporting with plans for financing owners, supporting financing for the secondary market and also for rent ,” affirmed Acting President Delcy Rodriguez.
As the recovery efforts continue, the Venezuela Rises plan serves as a beacon of hope for the families who have lost their homes and livelihoods due to the earthquakes.
