He began his international career in Moto3 in 2015 with the VR46 team.
Italian rider Nicolo Bulega, the current Superbike World Championship runner-up, will join the VR46 Ducati team starting in the 2027 season, making his debut in the premier MotoGP class alongside Spaniard Fermin Aldeguer.

Bulega began his international career in Moto3 in 2015 with the VR46 team, after winning the FIM CEV Moto3 Junior Championship. He then competed in that category for three seasons and made his Moto2 debut in 2019.
In the Supersport World Championship, he debuted in 2022 with Ducati and the following year was crowned champion with ten pole positions and sixteen victories.
In 2023, he moved to WorldSBK and has competed with the official Ducati team since 2024. In his first season, he finished as runner-up, a result he repeated in 2025, and he currently leads the standings with 26 wins in 27 races.

The rider acknowledged that reaching MotoGP is “a dream,” especially doing so with the VR46 team, with whom he has maintained ties since its inception. He emphasized that working with familiar people facilitates adaptation, both personally and professionally.
Bulega recalled that his career took a different path than expected, focusing on building a successful record in Superbike, but that now is the time to make the definitive leap to the premier class.
The Italian stated that he does not want to set specific goals in MotoGP, but rather progress “race by race” and focus on doing the best job possible, especially in the early stages of his debut.
