This direct qualification opportunity will include disciplines such as archery, athletics, badminton, handball, boxing, cycling, aquatic sports, equestrian sports, climbing, hockey, modern pentathlon, squash, surfing, taekwondo, tennis, table tennis, shooting, triathlon, and sailing. Additionally, nine other sports will award points for the Olympic ranking.

Similarly, athletics, swimming, boccia, blind football, goalball, cycling, and wheelchair rugby will also be qualifying events in the Parapan American Games, as indicated by the Organizing Committee in a press release.

The Lima 2027 Pan American Games will open on July 23 of next year with a ceremony at the National Stadium in Lima, an event that will bring together more than 6,000 athletes from 41 countries and delegations from across the Americas.

Between July 23 and August 8, competitions and ceremonies for 38 sports will take place at the National Sports Village (Videna), the Villa María del Triunfo Sports Complex, the Villa El Salvador Sports Center, Punta Rocas, among other venues.

The Parapan American Games will host more than 1,000 athletes from 34 countries, who will participate in 17 sports and 18 disciplines, between August 20 and 29, 2027.

The XX Pan American Games of 2027 will be held in the Lima-Callao Metropolitan Area, Peru, marking the second time Lima has hosted this sporting event and the first time a city has hosted them twice in less than a decade. Numerous events at these games will serve as qualifiers for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

The Organizing Committee of the XX Pan American Games will continue under the direction of the Peruvian Institute of Sport (IPD).

New members have been appointed, including Sergio Ludeña as president of the IPD and the Organizing Committee, Juan Lizárraga as technical secretary, Maali Del Pomar Saettone representing the Metropolitan Municipality of Lima, Cecilia Tait as delegate of the International Olympic Committee in Peru, Evelyn Inga representing the athletes, and Manuel Del Castillo, nominated by the president of the COP.
