The Vice President of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, emphasized the urgency of assuming great institutional and civic responsibility in the face of climate change impacts, highlighting the need to mitigate risks and preserve the planet against the current climate emergency.

The President stressed that the national environmental protection strategy is oriented towards pedagogical education and fostering a love for wildlife from childhood, ensuring recreational spaces focused on the ecological education of future generations.
“We wanted to create that awareness from children. These parks will help children understand the meaning of love for a living being, for an animal of our fauna,” she concluded.
These statements are made within the framework of a new agreement between Venezuela and India for bilateral cooperation and the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Venezuelan Ministry of Popular Power for Ecosocialism and India’s Greens Zoological Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre.
This agreement, ratified by the acting president Rodríguez, seeks to strengthen international alliances in environmental matters, with a focus on wildlife preservation and the modernization of public spaces. Rodríguez thanked India and Prime Minister Modi for their support and highlighted the importance of this agreement for the well-being of Venezuelan families and the future of the country.

Rodríguez announced that as part of the signing of a memorandum of understanding with India’s Greens Rescue Centre (Vantara), an aquarium, a conservation center, a veterinary center, and a wildlife hospital will be built in La Guaira state.
The initiative, which will continue the Master Plan for the recovery of the coastal entity after the earthquakes of June 24, also includes an extensive program of technical assistance and scientific exchange for the protection of vulnerable species.
In this regard, the National President indicated that this agreement will also have a direct impact on the social and environmental infrastructure of the region. “We want to give our best for La Guaira, to recover it for its people and for the people of Venezuela. There is no more extraordinary step than an agreement that includes technical assistance for the preservation, conservation, and rehabilitation of fauna,” she stated.
The cooperation plan, conceived in the Executive’s international agenda in Jamnagar, India, also covers the comprehensive rehabilitation of the country’s public zoological parks: “It includes the recovery of the country’s zoos, starting with the Pinar zoo and the Caricuao zoo, so that they can receive technical assistance and so that our professionals who care for wildlife can also attend courses in India.”
