Restore Britain is a party that exists because Reform UK wasn’t racist enough. The problem these parties have is that they rely on constantly pushing the envelope. Eventually, though, they reach a point at which the top brass decide they’ve gone as far as they’re comfortable with. Now, the far-right party has reached that point:

Remigration
The announcement generating all the controversy is as follows:

The section that Mukhtar drew attention to is the following:
We cannot simply turn the clock back. Many British citizens have different ethnic backgrounds and Restore Britain holds nothing against them. Many have had their parents and grandparents spend their entire lives in Britain – contributing, integrating, belonging.
They are British citizens, and they are part of the wider British people. They are British.
But they are not ethnically English, Welsh, Scottish, or Northern Irish. They are not Britons. And there is nothing wrong with that, it is simply an established fact.
Their citizenship is not conditional upon our judgement of the governments that preceded us. Our responsibility is therefore both to deal decisively with what can still be changed and to govern fairly, reasonably, and pragmatically within our country as it exists today, in 2026.
In other words, Lowe’s party is saying it will not seek to deport British citizens who can trace their ancestry back to non-British countries. The problem for Lowe is that many Restore members do want to deport British citizens of non-British ancestry.
Remigration
In July, we reported that Restore Britain was riddled with activists from groups like Remigration Now. As we reported at the time:
The UK group Remigration Now describes ‘remigration’ as follows:
Remigration is the act of returning immigrants and their descendants to their country of origin through both voluntary and mandatory measures.
They say ‘immigrants’, but what they mean is People of Colour. And you know they mean this, because there’s no campaign to deport anyone who has an Irish grandad or an Austrian nana (both of which this writer has).
Basically, then, remigration is just Nazi-grade racism with a fresh coat of paint. And everyone knows this stuff never ends with deportations.
Lowe is actually trying to have his racism cake and eat it. We say this because elsewhere in Restoring Our Identity, it’s written (emphasis added):
The foreign population living on our islands will drastically reduce, by the many millions.
Mass deportations, remigration, net negative immigration – call it whatever you want. That is Restore Britain’s position on immigration, and it will not change. The label is irrelevant.
Restore wants to pretend it’s the party of remigration when it’s just admitted that it’s not. And this is why prominent remigration activists like Steve Laws are leaving the party:

Restore Britain faces backlash
The Restoring Our Identity has received many negative responses from the racist audience the party has cultivated. Many of them read like this:
The Pakistani rape gangs are British because…
*checks notes*
they’ve lived here for an arbitrary amount of time.What are we even doing here fellas?
Of course your supporters are going to think like this when you spend all your time demonising people based on their ethnicity.
The following is from Hugh Anthony — the guy everyone assumes is some sort of British Hitler impersonator:
They say a lot of based stuff, and then weasel a stupid sentence in. Sure, ethnically there’s been contributing groups that have come over and bred into the populations of the British Isles, but that was a long drawn out process of ethnogenesis. But all those people were White.
There are certainly supportive messages, but there’s clearly a significant divide here. And when the right divides, they really divide. This is how we got Reform from the Tories; it’s also how we got Restore from Reform.
Restoring Our Identity isn’t the only thing causing trouble. The following activist resigned because he said party HQ is riding roughshod over local activists. Notably, this is a criticism Reform UK has faced too:

Restore down and out
One of the supporters responding to Restoring Our Identityhad this to say — a supporter who calls himself ‘Angloid’ no less:
Ultimately, if they are going to back down on a strong British identity rooted in something far more than ‘integrating’ ‘contributing’ and having a convenient piece of paper, well then they are not much different to Reform, and if that is the case why would we rally support behind Restore when it inevitably splits the vote between 2 parties that share the same ideology.
One of four things will happen now:
- A new far-right party will replace Lowe’s outfit
- Restore voters will drift back to Reform.
- Restore voters will give up on electoral politics.
- Some combination of all three.
This decision could be the end for Lowe’s party, anyway. Like Angloid said, when there’s no real difference between Restore and Reform, why split the vote?
