The Oscar and Juan Galvez Racetrack are undergoing extensive renovations to host the Motorcycle Grand Prix in 2027.
On Tuesday, Mohammed Ben Sulayem, president of the International Automobile Federation (FIA), announced that Argentina could return to host Formula One in 2029 or 2030, with the full support of the governing body.

The executive indicated that 2027 would be “too early” to include Buenos Aires on the calendar, but assured that the return is “on the right track” and depends on the preparation of the racetrack.
During his visit, he toured the Oscar and Juan Galvez Racetrack, which is undergoing extensive renovations and will host the Motorcycle Grand Prix in 2027, sending a message of commitment to the FIA.
Ben Sulayem highlighted the ongoing efforts to bring the World Rally Championship back to Argentina, while the possibility of seeing Argentine driver Franco Colapinto compete in his home country was mentioned as part of the enthusiasm for bringing the top tier of motorsports back to Argentina.

Cesar Carman, president of the Argentine Automobile Club (ACA), emphasized the cooperation with the FIA to achieve the return of both competitions, absent since 1998 for Formula One and 2019 for rallying.
Presidential spokesperson Adrian Ravier confirmed that the Argentine government is working towards the return of Formula One, with meetings between Daniel Scioli, Secretary of Tourism, Environment, and Sports, and sports authorities in Brazil.
The FIA American Congress, held in Buenos Aires, brings together leading figures in motorsports and transportation from across the continent, addressing issues of safety, technological innovation, and sustainability in competitions.
