One of the most evident cases of the new wave of U.S. war crimes took place in the Kuhestak area of Sirik county, Hormozgan province, where bombs killed a family that was celebrating a wedding.

Ahmad Nafisi, the province’s deputy governor, confirmed that the U.S. attack on the home injured 68 people and killed five, including a child.

Bombing wedding parties used to be a trademark of the US, while Trump was known for targeting schools and hospitals. Now, however, Trump’s obsession with war crimes has gone to another level:

Below is the Iranian Foreign Affairs Ministry’s statement in its entirety.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemns the aggressive actions by the United States against our beloved country, and reaffirms the Islamic Republic of Iran’s determination to firmly defend Iran’s independence, national sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

The American regime, which has been paralyzed in the face of the unwavering resolve of the Iranian people to defend the Iranian entity, once again attacked on Tuesday, violating Iran’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity, targeting several nonmilitary areas and service infrastructure, including a number of communication towers and sites, in the provinces of Khuzestan, Sistan and Baluchistan, Hormozgan, and Kerman, resulting in the martyrdom and injury of a number of our citizens, and causing damage to public and private property.

In an attack by the enemy of America on a wedding ceremony in Kohstak, located in the Sirik district of Hormozgan province, more than 70 of our citizens were martyred and injured, most of whom were women and children.

This heinous war crime, which constitutes a blatant violation of the fundamental principles of international law, is reminiscent of previous American-Zionist crimes over the past year and a half, including those in Minab and Lamard.

In response to the US military aggression, the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in accordance with the inherent right to legitimate defense, launched defensive and decisive strikes against US military bases that were the source and supporter of the US military aggression against the Iranian entity.

The Islamic Republic of Iran strongly urges countries in the region to prevent the American aggressors from using their capabilities and territories to prepare for and carry out aggressive operations against Iran, to prevent the continuation and escalation of the fires of war in the region, and not to allow the realization of the ominous American-Zionist conspiracy to impose permanent insecurity on the region.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs extends its condolences to the families of our dear citizens who were martyred, and reminds all countries of their responsibility to pursue, prosecute, and punish those who commit and carry out serious violations of international humanitarian law.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs once again reminds the United Nations, particularly the Security Council and the Secretary-General of the United Nations, of their responsibility to fulfill their duties in accordance with the Charter of the Organization. The silence and inaction of the United Nations’ organs in the face of the ongoing violations of the fundamental principles and rules of the Charter, particularly Article 2, paragraph 4, by a permanent member of the Security Council, will, on the one hand, lead to a further loss of the Organization’s credibility, and on the other hand, to an increasing threat to international peace and security.”
