On Friday, Tropical Storm Dolly dissipated in the Atlantic, just a day after forming, though its remnants could bring rain to Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, and Haiti.

The U.S. National Hurricane Center (NHC) reported that Dolly’s remnants were located 1,610 kilometers east of the Leeward Islands, with maximum sustained winds of 65 km/h.
Although it poses no immediate threat, the agency warned that the rains could cause flash flooding in the Leeward Islands and move toward the Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and Hispaniola between Saturday and Monday.
Dolly is the fourth named storm of the Atlantic season, following Arthur, Bertha, and Cristobal, in a year with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)’s forecast limiting the number of named storms to a maximum of 13.

In Cuba, the Institute of Meteorology (INSMET) issued Tropical Cyclone Advisory No. 1 following the formation of the storm, activating meteorological monitoring despite being more than 2,500 kilometers away.
The system was moving west at 39 km/h, with a minimum pressure of 1007 hPa, and models predict that it will gradually weaken as it approaches the Lesser Antilles.
Dolly could degrade back into a tropical wave before reaching the eastern Caribbean. Meanwhile, meteorologists indicated that the high speed of its movement will determine its evolution and recommended that the public stay informed only through official INSMET advisories.
