On Friday, Ecuadorian cyclist Jonathan Caicedo announced that he will ride for Burgos Burpellet BH next season, having signed a one-year contract through 2027.

Caicedo comes from the Wheeltop Rotor Chengdu Team and has five seasons of experience in the UCI WorldTour, all with EF Education-EasyPost, where he competed in five editions of the Giro d’Italia.
His greatest victory came in 2020, when he won a stage finishing on Mount Etna. The cyclist also won the 2018 Vuelta a Colombia, the 2024 Vuelta al Tachira, and the 2024 Vuelta Bantrab, in addition to securing his fourth national time trial title in 2026.
Later, he won the overall classification of the Tour of Magnificent Qinghai with the Chinese team, demonstrating his continued relevance and ability to compete in highly demanding races.

Caicedo expressed his enthusiasm for joining Burgos Burpellet BH, assuring that he will give 100% and will seek to “put on a show” in the stages of the upcoming season.
Damien Garcia, the team’s sporting director, highlighted the Ecuadorian’s experience and versatility, recalling his victory in the Giro d’Italia and his recent success in Qinghai.
With this signing, Caicedo becomes Burgos Burpellet BH’s second reinforcement for 2027, following the addition of the Estonian Romet Pajur.
