Juan Manzo, brother of murdered Uruapan mayor Carlos Manzo, accused Samuel “N” of surveilling him for the victim’s widow, Grecia Quiroz, and said she would finance the detainees’ defense with public funds.
Juan Manzo, brother of the murdered former mayor Carlos Manzo, backed the accusations made against people linked to the case and charged that Samuel “N” also monitored the former mayor’s movements to later report them to Grecia Quiroz.
Manzo also denounced that the defense of the bodyguards detained for the murder would be financed with public funds from the Uruapan City Council.
The accusations were raised by the former mayor’s brother amid the questions about the investigation into the homicide.
They Will Ask the FGR to Take Over the Investigation
Faced with what he described as inconsistencies and alleged obstacles in the local investigation, Juan Manzo announced that he will formally request that the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) take over the case.
The request would seek to transfer the investigation to the federal level to review the circumstances related to the homicide of Carlos Manzo and the accusations that have arisen around people linked to his administration.
In an interview with Milenio, Juan Manzo also maintained that the defense of those detained for the murder would be paid by Grecia Quiroz and the Movimiento del Sombrero.
The former mayor’s brother argued that the FGR’s intervention would make it possible to review the inconsistencies that, according to his version, exist in the local investigation.
Accusations Pending Clarification
Juan Manzo’s statements correspond to accusations that will have to be corroborated by the authorities.
The material provided does not include documents, judicial rulings, or statements from the people named that would confirm the accusations about the surveillance of Carlos Manzo or the alleged use of public funds to finance the detainees’ defense.
