American authorities recently handed over to Mexico 10 fugitives wanted in several states.

Ten Mexican fugitives wanted for serious crimes—including kidnapping, drug trafficking, and weapons possession—were handed over to Mexico by U.S. authorities in recent days, the United States ambassador, retired colonel Ronald Johnson, said Tuesday.

The Washington envoy explained on social media that the 10 individuals were wanted by the justice system in several states of the country for serious crimes, among them kidnapping, drug- and weapons-related offenses, as well as activities linked to organized crime organizations.

“Our cooperation is delivering results: fewer criminals on our streets, greater accountability, and safer communities,” wrote Johnson, who accompanied the message with photographs of the detainees, most of them handcuffed and guarded by police and military personnel at border points.

The ambassador stressed that bilateral coordination between the two countries has made it possible to reduce the spaces of impunity for those facing criminal charges. “When the United States and Mexico work together, criminals have nowhere to hide,” he maintained.
