Peskov says Britain is ‘adding fuel to the fire’ as PM Burnham visits Kiev.
On Monday, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Russia condemns the United Kingdom’s decision to provide Ukraine with assistance to manufacture long-range missiles.

“We have an extremely negative opinion. The United Kingdom is participating in this war on the side of the Kiev regime. It is methodically and regularly adding fuel to the fire,” he said in statements that coincided with the arrival in Kiev of British Prime Minister Andy Burnham.
Peskov added that London is also always “plotting to prevent any kind of progress in the process of a peaceful settlement” of the conflict in Ukraine. For that reason, the Russian military is dedicated to “identifying the production centers of these missiles” and “is taking measures to destroy these facilities.”
During his first trip to Ukraine, Burnham is expected to announce that he will allow European defense company MBDA to declassify information about the British components of the Storm Shadow missile.

The Labour leader is taking part in commemorations in Kiev marking the 35th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence and reaffirming the United Kingdom’s support for the country.
The visit comes after media reports that Russia has withdrawn its ambassador to the United Kingdom, Andrei Kelin, to pressure London to reconsider its support for Ukraine.
On Monday, the Russian Defense Ministry confirmed that its air defense systems had intercepted and destroyed 351 fixed-wing Ukrainian drones over its territory overnight.
Russian forces continued overnight strikes with precision air-launched weapons and attack drones against Ukrainian ports and vessels allegedly involved in transporting cargo for the military.
