Earlier this month, Tyson shut down its meatpacking plant in Joslin, Illinois with no warning, leaving around 2,500 workers jobless overnight. But the workers are fighting back: On Friday, hundreds rallied against these illegal layoffs. Not only are they demanding six months full pay to all workers regardless of immigration status, they’re calling on the state to intervene and reopen the plant.
