Jewish anti-genocide activist Tony Greenstein was acquitted yesterday, 21 August 2026. Greenstein, 72, faced supposed ‘terror’ charges for expressing his support for Palestinian resistance to Israel’s occupation. The state’s failure to convict triggered a massive hissy-fit among the UK Israel lobby. Zionists demanded changes to prosecutions to prevent juries acquitting individuals deemed undesirable by those who support genocide.
Greenstein’s vexatious prosecutions
Greenstein’s fellow Brightonian Greg Hadfield is no stranger to malicious prosecutions, as he reminded his followers after the verdict:

And Hadfield pointed out how he was far from alone in facing malicious prosecutions – and how often the same people are behind them:

Hunter’s prosecution, for example, was so malicious and dishonest that the judge in the case ordered Israel lobby group ‘Campaign against Antisemitism’ to reference his judgment every time it tries to go after someone in future.
Historic ‘rambling’ — and Zionist meltdown
And, happily for readers and posterity, Hadfield had obtained a copy of Greenstein’s closing speech at the trial, which he described as historic:

In it, Greenstein talks about his own Jewish and anti-Zionist history, the genocide in Gaza and the UK state’s collaboration in it, and the same state’s twisted decision to prosecute him as part of its war on resistance to Israel’s crimes.
The judge — who had sided relentlessly with the prosecution in earlier stages of the case — said she considered charging Greenstein with contempt of court for his speech after he ignored her order not to talk about Israel and Gaza. She also told Greenstein that the jurors were “not concerned with events in the Middle East” — almost identical to the perverse tactic that backfired on the judge and prosecution in the Filton activist trial this week.
But she decided that Greenstein’s address was a “rambling speech delivered by an old man” and would not impact the jury’s decision. That didn’t turn out well for the state’s aims.

The verdict led to a deeply satisfying meltdown among the UK’s genocide lobby, as Hadfield and others pointed out. Hadfield’s old accuser combined with Alex Hearn of notorious antisemitism-scam group LAAS:

Bad week for Shabana Mahmood
It was a bad-week for Starmer-turned-Burnham home secretary Shabana Mahmood’s war on UK rights and freedoms to protect Israel. As well as Greenstein’s acquittal, a jury refused to convict ‘Filton 24’ activists, while a better judge refused to impose ‘terror’ sentences on a group that spray-painted a Barclays building for the bank’s collusion in genocide and apartheid.
These victories are as they should be and Zionist meltdowns are always good. But the state’s war on its citizens and its collaboration in Israel’s genocide continue.
