FM Quirno said Fernando Cerimedo is no longer an adviser to the Argentine President.

On Friday, Argentine Foreign Minister Pablo Quirno made statements aimed at distancing President Javier Milei from far-right political consultant Fernando Cerimedo, who was detained in Bolivia for the attempted assassination of Nadia Beller, his former partner.

“The Argentine government has no opinion on the case. He is an Argentine citizen who is abroad and is at the disposal of Bolivian justice,” he said.

“He has been an adviser to many people. At this time, he is not an adviser to Milei, and he has not been an adviser for a long time. We have nothing to contribute,” DM Quirno told local media.

Cerimedo was detained by Bolivian authorities at the Santa Cruz airport on Tuesday, when he was attempting to travel to Buenos Aires, hours after two hitmen carried out the armed attack against Beller.

“Cerimedo era testaferro de Javier y Karina Milei. Recibía el dinero, yo lo veía todo. Los fondos de ANDIS eran directamente para Karina Milei”

The text reads, “Cerimedo was a front man for Javier and Karina Milei. He received the money; I saw everything. The ANDIS funds went directly to Karina Milei.” The wife of Cerimedo, an advisor to Javier Milei, who they tried to kill for knowing too much.

On social media on Thursday, Milei sought to question the veracity of the attack by raising the possibility of a “self-inflicted attack” and linking former Bolivian President Evo Morales to the incident.

Despite the Argentine government’s efforts to promote the idea that Cerimedo stopped having ties to Milei in 2023, official records show that Cerimedo entered the Pink House more than 10 times between December 2023 and June 2024, as reported by El Diario AR.

A few hours after the attack, from the hospital where she is hospitalized, Beller spoke to the press about the relationship Cerimedo had with Milei and his sister, Karina. According to Beller, the far-right consultant had told her about acts of corruption involving the Milei clan.

“He told me that they stole even the smallest things and that everything went through his sister. It seems that he has some personal relationship with his sister… the comment was always that,” Beller said, recalling what Cerimedo said about Javier and Karina.

The text reads, “Military officer was arrested while removing a black bag from one of Cerimedo’s properties. He was carrying US$700,000 in the bag.”

According to Nadia Beller’s lawyers, Cerimedo’s phone contained messages that clearly revealed the motive for the attempted murder.

“Nadia sold us out. EITHER WE ELIMINATE HER NOW or we’re screwed. Do you know anyone who can do the job?” read one of those messages, as posted by Milei’s Repentant Ones (“Arrepentidos de Milei).

This week, the attempted assassination of Beller also exposed the ties between Cerimedo and right-wing Bolivian President Rodrigo Paz, as well as possible acts of corruption by his administration.
