On Friday, in a joint statement, the foreign ministers of Turkey, Algeria, Indonesia, Jordan, Lebanon, Malaysia, Mauritania, Pakistan, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Somalia described the recent airstrikes against the Abu al-Duhur military base as an extreme escalation. They also denounced a flagrant violation of the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and political unity of the Syrian nation.

The ministers expressed their deep concern about the continued attacks on Syrian territory and infrastructure. They warned that these actions jeopardize Damascus’s efforts to restore security, rebuild its institutions, and address the humanitarian consequences of years of conflict.
They noted that violations of Syrian sovereignty could increase regional tensions, undermine peace and stability, and weaken respect for international law and the principles of the UN Charter. The signatory countries called on the international community for a firm, clear, and principled response to end these actions, ensure compliance with the 1974 Disengagement Agreement, and demand the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the occupied territories.
In a second statement, the foreign ministers of the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, and Egypt unequivocally condemned Israeli settlement expansion policies in the occupied Palestinian territory and categorically rejected the E1 settlement plan and associated activities in East Jerusalem.

The eight countries also denounced the violence and violations committed by Israeli settlers against Palestinians and their property, maintaining that these practices violate international law and relevant United Nations resolutions.
They warned that the E1 project poses a danger to the region by promoting the expansion and annexation of settlements, jeopardizing territorial continuity between the West Bank and East Jerusalem. In their view, this threatens the possibility of establishing an independent, contiguous, and viable Palestinian state, based on the 1967 borders and with East Jerusalem, occupied by Israel that year, as its capital.
The Israeli government announced last Tuesday a new tender to build 1,234 homes, part of the controversial E1 plan, which seeks to divide the north and south of the occupied West Bank and isolate East Jerusalem.
