Argentina’s President Javier Milei will travel to the United States to attend the second edition of the “Hispanic Gala,” an event organized by Latino Wall Street and La Derecha Diario, the portal linked to detained advisor Fernando Cerimedo.

The Argentinean President has not visited the government headquarters in Buenos Aires, since July 31, when he met with his South Korean counterpart. After that meeting, Milei traveled to Colombia and, upon returning, spent nearly ten days at the presidential residence, leaving only to attend a ceremony in honor of General José de San Martín on Monday.

His team confirmed three planned trips: two to the United States, one in September and another in October, and one to France.

The first excursion will take Milei to the second edition of the “Hispanic Gala,” organized by Latino Wall Street, a platform for alleged “financial education” founded by two Donald Trump militants, and La Derecha Diario, the portal owned by Fernando Cerimedo, the advisor detained in Bolivia, and Spanish influencer Javier Negre.

The first edition of the gala took place in February at Mar-a-Lago, the Florida residence of U.S. President Donald Trump. The choice of venue reflects the close alliance between Milei and Trump, two figures who have promoted far-right agendas across the hemisphere. The Argentinean President has repeatedly expressed admiration for the U.S. head of State and has aligned Argentina’s foreign policy with Washington, including plans for closer trade and security ties.

For Milei, the gala represents another opportunity to strengthen ties with conservative donors and activists who operate in the U.S. political arena. However, the event also raises questions about the president’s priorities while the country faces economic challenges at home.

Funding Dirty Campaigns

According to the report, the purpose of these galas is to raise funds that would likely be used by figures such as Cerimedo and Negre to finance dirty campaigns that favor far-right leaders in Latin America. Cerimedo, detained in Bolivia, has been linked to digital disinformation operations, while Negre has built a media network with strong presence in Spanish-speaking audiences.

The Argentinean government confirmed both the trip to the gala and the September visit to attend the United Nations General Assembly, held each year in New York. The schedule also includes a trip to France, although details of that visit have not been disclosed.

Javier Milei did not occupy his office for the entire month of August, while he finalized his international agenda. The prolonged absence has generated criticism from opposition sectors, who question the president’s management style and his preference for governing from the presidential residence. His administration defends the strategy and argues that international presence strengthens Argentina’s position abroad.

The upcoming trips to the United States and France will keep the Argentinean President away from his desk for several more days, while the political debate over his governing model intensifies at home. For critics, the gala at Mar-a-Lago symbolizes a foreign policy that prioritizes ideological alliances over institutional routine.
