Agriculture changed drastically 100 years ago. Capitalism demanded annuals that produce easily harvested food and generate fertilizer and seed sales.

Dandelions, clover, and many other deliberately cultivated crops were classified as weeds to sell harmful poisons.

What we lost were perennial food crops that kept humanity alive for centuries, resisted drought and frost, contained more nutrients, and created their own nitrogen.
