Attack hits crowded port area as cease-fire talks stall amid ongoing military operations.
On Tuesday, two Israeli missiles killed seven Palestinians and wounded at least 15 others at the crowded cafe “In Good Times and Bad,” located in the port of Gaza City.

Among the dead was a child, a cafe worker said, adding that the wounded were taken to field hospitals run by the Palestinian Red Crescent and to Shifa Hospital.
The wounded were initially transported in private vehicles as ambulances tried to reach the site, which is also one of the busiest areas in Gaza City, frequented by thousands of displaced Palestinians as well as visitors to the seaside promenade and the port.
During a meeting held in Jerusalem on Monday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Jared Kushner, an adviser to U.S. President Donald Trump, discussed next steps for launching the second phase of a stalled cease-fire, which that Israel has not honored since it was signed in October 2025.

According to the outlet Axios, Netanyahu expressed skepticism about the U.S. plan for Gaza, while Kushner suggested that the United States would understand if Israel attacked Gaza in the event of “imminent threats.”
This contradicts the Sharm el-Sheikh Protocol signed in Egypt, which already called for a “cessation of military operations” in Gaza by both Palestinian factions and Israel as a requirement for advancing to subsequent stages, including the disarmament of Hamas.
Similarly, Israeli troops were supposed to have withdrawn at least to the original layout of the so-called “yellow line,” when Israel militarily controlled 53% of the Gaza Strip, not more than 65%, as it does now.
Since October 2025, Israel has killed more than 1,270 Palestinians and wounded about 4,200. Since the start of the genocide in 2023, however, occupation forces have killed at least 73,400 Palestinians in Gaza, a devastated territory facing shortages of drinking water, electricity, shelter and medicine.
