The donation is intended for the pediatric sector, patients, and people in need in Cuba, aiming to alleviate shortages caused by the intensification of the U.S. blockade, according to a statement from the Cuban Embassy in Pakistan.
The campaign, conducted in coordination with the Cuban diplomatic mission, is being carried out by the Pakistani professionals themselves, who plan to gather the largest possible quantity of these supplies to organize a shipment.
In just two days, doctors based in the capital, Islamabad, as well as in the cities of Mansehra and Abbottabad, visited the diplomatic mission to deliver the first batches of medicines, antibiotics, and supplies, the diplomatic source noted.
Pakistan and Cuba have marked 71 years of bilateral relations; as part of these ties, some 900 young Pakistanis have graduated in medical sciences in Cuba, where others are currently pursuing studies at various levels.
