The London Irish Brigade held a demo outside the German Embassy on Saturday 15 August 2026 to call attention to the show trial of the ‘Ulm 5‘ anti-genocide activists in Stuttgart Stammheim, Germany.

Like the ‘Filton 24’ in the UK, several of whom were at the demo to show their support, and other anti-genocide activists in the UK, the Ulm 5 were non-violent. They damaged murder-drones at an Elbit factory and then waited for police to arrive. Also like the Filton activists, since their arrest the five have been held in severe conditions for many months, with strict restrictions on visits and phone calls. Meanwhile, neo-Nazis on trial in the same courthouse have been allowed bail.

London — Justice delayed is justice denied

The trial is underway now, but will take several months: the judge has timetabled it to conclude in January 2027 and it is proceeding now. Anyone wishing to observe the trial is being treated as a potential terrorist — intimate body searches, no writing materials. Even the defence team has been banned from taking notes, making an appeal doubly difficult.

The trial is in German with inadequate translation for those who don’t speak German. The proceedings are not being recorded, preventing proper scrutiny of evidence and proceedings. The Ulm 5 are calling on the UK Government to send an official observer to the trial, as Irish MPs are doing

Mimi spoke about the injustices inflicted on the defendants, the clear contempt for process and a fair trial shown by the German government and court system — and Elbit Germany’s century-long links to genocide even before the slaughter it is helping enable in Gaza:
