“This is a warning.” Fifteen days into Keiko Fujimori’s administration, the far-right president is already facing backlash from Peru’s unions. The General Confederation of Workers of Peru (CGTP), Peru’s largest labor union, led a massive march in central Lima on Thursday against Fujimori’s proposed reforms which would weaken worker protections and exacerbate job insecurity. Workers also demanded Fujimori keep her promise of raising the minimum wage to 1,300 soles.
