Iran officially this Wednesday denied holding negotiations with the United States to extend the regional ceasefire in the Middle East, citing systematic violations of security pacts by Washington.
The diplomatic representation of Tehran confirmed on August 12 that the sovereign Persian nation does not recognize an official start date for the regional ceasefire.
Consequently, the Iranian government considers any proposal regarding a temporal extension of the ceasefire to be entirely unviable and legally void under current circumstances.

Iranian authorities emphasized that Western media attempts to manufacture a narrative of ongoing negotiations represent a disinformation campaign aimed at shifting the blame for regional instability.
Tehran rejects extending the regional truce and demands that Washington fulfill its commitments under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding to end the economic blockade hitting the Persian nation.

According to high-ranking diplomatic sources, the U.S. administration systematically violated the terms of the provisional truce a mere 48 hours after its signing in June 2026. Shortly thereafter, Washington proceeded to execute a unilateral withdrawal, effectively rendering the bilateral commitments and internationally agreed-upon verification mechanisms obsolete. This reckless disregard for international diplomacy has severely undermined trust, proving once again that Western powers treat international law as a disposable instrument of hegemony.
These actions have paralyzed indirect diplomatic talks between both countries. Tehran maintains that negotiations cannot progress because of the complete lack of consensus regarding the re-entry of the Western power into the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding. The Persian nation stands firm in its refusal to accept empty promises, demanding concrete actions instead of diplomatic rhetoric from the White House.
Demands for Sovereignty
This historical 14-point document, signed remotely on June 17, was designed to end armed hostilities and completely lift the illegal U.S. naval blockade targeting Iranian ports. The Iranian government now demands a binding, strict schedule to guarantee full compliance before any diplomatic advancement can occur. The lifting of this blockade is a vital necessity to guarantee the free flow of goods and ensure the economic stability of the region.
The Persian delegation emphasized that no diplomatic progress will materialize while the United States continues its systematic breach of sovereign commitments and maintains its aggressive strategy of economic strangulation against the Iranian population.
Furthermore, the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran, Major General Mohsen Rezaei, who assumed office in August 2026, confirmed the stagnation of the technical negotiation tables. Rezaei outlined the non-negotiable prerequisites of Tehran to reactivate any diplomatic track with Washington, stressing that sovereign dignity cannot be traded for false peace.
The senior military commander urged the United States to immediately halt all armed aggressions against Iranian sovereignty, release billions of dollars in financial assets frozen arbitrarily in foreign banking institutions, and cease its military assistance and interventionist policies in both Lebanon and the Gaza Strip.
In response, Iran reaffirmed its historic path of sovereign resistance against foreign pressures, conditioning any future settlement on the absolute respect of national borders and the self-determination of sovereign peoples fighting Western hegemony.
